A Man Of Faith & Family
David is a caring, kind and giving man who authentically lives the life of his Lutheran faith each and every day.
David met his wife, Pat Kemmerling, at Concordia University in Ann Arbor where they both attended. They married on July 19, 1980. Their lives are entwined through faith, marriage, family, and a joint love of the Lutheran Church Missouri Synod. Pat is a busy pastor’s wife, visual faith coach, former Lutheran teacher and artist who most recently contributed to the New Enduring Word Bible. Together, they have 4 children (Leah, Joel, James and Hannah) and 4 grandchildren. David is deeply proud of each of his children and their growing families.
Together, David and Pat are on a journey of faith and family that they have built together by God’s grace.
As for the rich in this present age, charge them not to be haughty, nor to set their hopes on the uncertainty of riches, but on God, who richly provides us with everything to enjoy.
1 Timothy 6:17
I grew up with 1 Timothy 6:17 as a central part of my childhood. It’s also part of how Pat & I live our lives with our children. When we were together with our children camping and we had nothing but a pup tent, a dog and a campfire (because that’s all we could afford) we thoroughly enjoyed it because we recognized that it was a gift from God. When we have been out watching the Passion play in a beautiful theater with all of its comforts, we enjoyed it because God supplied all things richly to enjoy. As a family we recognize all of God’s blessings.
